Microsoft Chat is a graphical chat client in which conversations take place in a dynamic comic strip.
Because of the comic strip like way in which conversations are displayed the program is also often referred to as "Comic Chat".
Microsoft Comic Chat began its life in black and white; while it still provided a different and fun way to chat there was something was missing - color!
In later versions (2.5) Comic Chat entered the world of color where not only could people use colorful characters and backgrounds -- but they could make their own characters to share with the comic world.

Comic Chat was included with Internet Explorer (3, 4) installation packs in the 1990s and Microsoft hosted the major network of servers for people to use their product on.
Microsoft closed their comic chat servers in 2001.
